Photographs by the Children of Aitutaki

During the school holidays of July, a group of children from Grow Aitutaki interested in photography worked together for a week, taking photos of their community with a wide selection of digital and analogue cameras. Each participating child created their own zine, using photographs made during the Coral Kids photography workshops and a collection of personal perspectives on everyday life in Aitutaki.

Support the Project

Coral Kids is a long-term community photography project based in Aitutaki, Cook Islands. Donations help provide cameras, film, printing, underwater equipment, workshop materials, exhibitions, and the long-term care of the children's photographic archive.

Grow Aitutaki is a volunteer-led environmental education programme for children. Through cultural knowledge, environmental stewardship, and hands-on activities, it supports children in building a strong connection with their island, its traditions, and its future.

Aitutaki Coral Restoration restores coral across the Aitutaki lagoon. Visitors can book a coral-planting tour and take part in the restoration work while learning about the lagoon and its reef ecosystems.
