Raquel Trejo received Jury Favorite: Story for Coral Kids in the Wereldmuseum Photo Contest 2026. The competition’s theme was Home. Photographs and the accompanying story about life in Aitutaki are included in the museum’s online publication, Through the Lens of… Home.

Australian International Documentary Conference 2026
Coral Kids was presented in development at the Australian International Documentary Conference, with support from the South Australian Film Corporation. Participation led to connections with Aotearoa Māori documentary makers and discussions about collaboration, authorship, and the project’s next stage.

ABC Pacific / Nesia Daily — Princess Davey
Princess Davey, a 12-year-old Coral Kids participant in Aitutaki, was featured by ABC Pacific’s Nesia Daily after becoming the youngest winner of the ABC Radio Australia photo competition.
Princess made the winning photograph during the project’s first photography workshop. It shows her friend Mano after he climbed a coconut tree.
